colour scheme debate
Our new bedroom is chocolate brown and cream, thus launching the debate:
Brown and cream: devastatingly contemporary, or dreadful 70's throwback?
Your thoughts on a post card please.

Chocolate + Orange = '70s
Chocolate + Cream = Contemporary
Like all contemporary colour schemes, when you look back at pictures of it in 30 years time you will think it's rubbish and not be able to believe you ever thought it looked good. But you've got 30 years until you need to start worrying about that.
hmm, well it was started by something my Mother said when I described the room on the phone. She said she had painted her flat brown and cream in 1973. She couldn't believe I had bought faux-suede curtains because that's what she had before I was even born. I guess fashions come round and round - I mean, look at legwarmers.
and mullets.
Maybe your mother was just 30 years ahead of her time. Like me; I'm the most fashionable person there is, but people just don't realise it yet.
I think we've established from your design magazines that it is DEVASTATINGLY contemporary if you combine it with a pair of matching Siamese cats.
Shame about the faux suede curtains - I could have let you have the original 70s curtains from my living room (which are - you guessed it - brown and cream)...
