An eye for an eye?
I don't like to get too political normally, but this I just can't help:
How can it be really, really bad to publish a cartoon but acceptable to behead the person who published it?
I've been trying to think of something that could be that offensive to me and I just can't. I mean, there are things that offend me, but not to that extent. Not enough to want someone to die.
I am bewildered and saddened by the strange world we live in.

It's not a million miles away from the ALF loonies who think that fire-bombing people for testing medicines on animals makes logical sense... And as with that example, the loonies hide the underlying legitimate arguments
Gotta agree with you there rach - a cartoon (or any literature/statement of one individual's opinion) published in a foreign country is hardly grounds for demonstrations in another country in which placards with such hate-filled slogans are openly waved.
Did you see the NewsNight debate last night? Very interesting. Especially the introductory footage of the copper "explaining" to the driver of a van the reasons the driver wasn't allowed to express his opinions.
I hope arrests are made - I won't be happy in a country where anyone who disagrees with me shuns any kind of intellectual discussion and instead incites others to chop my head off.
