Is taller better?

Apparently, statistics show that taller people do better in life than shorter people. I learned this from the fount of all knowledge, Radio 4, during a show called Am I normal.

80% of American presidential elections were won by the taller candidate.

If I was Chris I would follow this fact by a witty and well constructed gag about the state of America and their voting decisions, but I'm not that clever. Chris, will you oblige?

Not sure I have anything witty nor well constructed to add, but I will note with a heavy heart that this height theory did not hold true for the last two elections. Al Gore stands 1.5 inches taller than George W Bush and John Kerry was a whopping 5 inches taller, at 6 ft 4 in.
By the way, I got those figures from here which states that this is all something of an urban myth. Technically, yes, the majority of contests were won by the taller candidate, but the figure is only something like 57% which isn't a particularly overwhelming margin.

WHAT! Radio 4 telling me an untruth! How can this be????

I am saddened by this news, and may have to pass on my dissapointment to my personal BBC complaints committee.

I am always fascinated by those who "love" to think of America as a sesspool full of problems, woe and lunatics . .

funny . .

But back to the topic . . I'd have to agree that taller usually prevails, however would argue this is not based on any true causal or correlative evidence and nothing to do with any individual's stature or worth.

Have a lovely day! hehe
